Crossword Puzzles Teach You Interesting Words And Their Meanings

Crosswords are great for building up your vocabulary.  You learn of words that you have never heard before, and they are given a context for use through the clue.

We thought we would find a few new words for you today.  Perhaps they will appear in one of our puzzles soon!

Panglossian -Excessively or naively optimistic.

Petrichor – the smell of rain on dry earth

Bloviate – to speak pompously

Impignorate – to pawn or mortgage an item

Supervacaneous – unnecessary, superfluous

Metanoia – the act or process of changing one’s mind
